Dog Daycare Done Better
Pawistive Pups Academy’s unique, combination daycare and training service provides busy pet owners with an all-in-one enrichment, exercise, socialization and training solution that fits their budget and lifestyle.
What makes Pawsitive Pups Academy daycare better?
Small scale, individual attention
In order to provide our client dogs with the highest quality, individualized care, we only accept 8 dogs TOTAL, per day, into our daycare program.
Each dog will receive their own personalized enrichment, exercise and training plan based on their individual needs. Your dog will be matched with appropriate playmates, in an appropriately sized group to fit their unique personality. They will also receive daily one on one training and enrichment sessions designed with your goals in mind.

Experienced, educated, certified professional care
While many facilities consider daycare provider to be an unskilled, entry level position, we believe that you and your pets deserve better.
Pawsitive Pups Academy is owned and operated by Ashlee Osborn, a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner and Family Dog Mediator with nearly fifteen years of professional experience in the pet care industry. In addition to her own education and experience, Ashlee regularly attends classes, workshops and seminars, and consults with other industry experts to craft the best possible training, enrichment, exercise and socialization plans for each individual dog enrolled in our daycare program.
Adventures galore
Pawsitive Pups Academy is based out of Prattsburgh, NY on our seven-acre, home-based, partially wooded, enrichment rich property where we run playgroups, off leash hikes and additional training and enrichment activities.
In addition to home-based activities, the daycare pups will receive regular field trips to local hiking trails, lakes, parks, dog friendly stores, patios and more for socialization and enrichment opportunities, and to practice their training skills in new and distracting environments.
Discounted boarding & overnight adventures
We provide small scale, home-based, overnight boarding at our Prattsburgh location at a discounted rate for our regular daycare clients.
Regular daycare clients are also eligible to join us on overnight or weekend adventures for camping trips, cabin stays and dog sport events. These offer a great opportunity for your dog to experience additional exercise and enrichment while also getting socialization and skills practice to become great travel companions.

Daycare
Requirements
-
All dogs must be up to date on rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations. We also highly recommend your dog be vaccinated for leptospirosis and canine influenza.
Vaccines must have been administered by a licensed veterinarian. Owners must provide written proof of vaccination prior to their dog attending daycare. Owners must provide continued proof of updated vaccinations throughout their dog’s enrollment in the daycare program. -
All dogs must be up to date on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Our daycare program includes regular hikes in wooded areas where ticks and other parasites may be present.
While natural flea and tick repellants such as Wondercide can be applied as an additional preventative measure on request, due to a high risk of tick exposure in the area, we do not accept alternative/natural treatments as singular preventatives.
-
We require daycare dogs to be social with select humans and dogs with proper introduction and management.
Your dog does NOT have to love all other dogs or people in order to attend our daycare program.
Due to its individualized and training focused structure, our daycare program is a great fit for dogs who are shy or selective towards humans or other dogs, or dogs who are over aroused in larger playgroups.
The daycare program is not a good fit for dogs who have struggling with aggression or severe reactivity, however, it is a great fit for dogs with mild to moderate reactive behavior without a history of fighting or biting.
Not sure if your dog is the right fit? Don’t worry. We will perform an initial evaluation prior to enrollment in the daycare program and suggest alternative service options if daycare isn’t the right fit for you and your dog.
-
For safety reasons, your dog will be crated during transportation and between enrichment, exercise, socialization and training sessions.
We aim to create a positive and pleasant crating experience for each dog in our care by providing cozy bedding*, toys*, chews and treats during kennel time, as well as ensuring each dog is properly exercised and enriched during their time with us. However, for the safety and mental wellness of the dogs in our care, dogs exhibiting severe kennel distress, who do not respond positively to training interventions, will be dismissed from the program and offered alternative training solutions.
*Bedding and toys may be withheld from dogs at risk of ingesting non-food items.
